Hard to say... Maybe Pyaemia - Cranial Blowout, or Inveracity - Defeated Human Rape (more than $50 if I remember right). Spawn of Possession first demos were not especially cheap either

Think I paid $30 bucks or so for an original copy of Handle with Care by Nuclear Assault. Don't like to give power to the those who sell cds for ridiculous prices or inventive for them to keep doing so.

When I first got into more extreme bands, for some reason (probably NAFTA), every album (especially Unique Leader releases) was $27.99 or $32.99. Didn't matter if I went to HMV or a local music store. It was fucked up, I started doing money order to Relapse's disto but I was so glad when I found Brutal Bands in Grade 12 haha.

I feel like I've said it 100 just this week, but people need to stop buying CDs for insane prices. If people don't buy for $$$ then they won't sell for $$$.

This only works to a certain point where a cd is just too rare (bc it was limited) or old and thought hard to get. Clean Flesh MCD for example...old, rare - you cant buy/sell it for the same price as a new cd with a 10.000 pressing :/

On a side note what do you think the most expensive CD is? Clean Flesh EP? Pyrexia - Sermon of Mockery Carbonized Rottrevore?

Its on Discogs, I am fairly new to using that site. 2 years maybe? But even when the CD came out in 99, i was unable to find it. Underground in the underground? Been using Discogs for four or five years now, although I made a new account last year to organize everything better and get a fresh start for the new mentality I have towards collecting. What is the advantage of Discogs over Rate Your Music other than the aspect of a built in marketplace to sell CDs?

I have no idea how rate your music works but discogs is one of the top places to buy cds, maybe not price wise but definitely can find a lot of stuff you cant find elsewhere

Most expensive CD, hmm? I've seen Dripping demo on Discogs for like $450 but don't know if it was ever bought. Saw that Blackthorn's full length sold on Discogs for like $650. Most expensive death metal CD was Sororicide's The Entity going for $1200. On a more BDM level, I've heard of Orchidectomy and the Pustulated/Copremesis split going for around $200.

I think the most I ever spent was $25 for a copy of Demonic - The Empire of Agony... not counting CDs that just cost a lot overall because of international shipping or the like. Almost bit the bullet on Sacramentum - Far Beyond The Sun when it was going for $75+, but I guess I've been pretty stingy about paying a lot for collector's item CDs.

I can't believe people are paying prices like that. I want a copy of Scatorgy (broke right now anyway) and one copy on discogs I think is like $200 about.

In early '90 I paid 40.000 lire (about 20 €) for the first album by Edge Of Sanity in regular cd version. Absolutely an insane price, but this due as a mistake with my brother that pick-up the package and paid at the postman without advise me. Fuck!!!

There's only 3 that I can recall paying an exorbitant amount for.
Rottrevore "Iniquitous" Pyrexia "Sermon Of Mockery" Sorcery "Bloodchilling Tales"

What is the advantage of Discogs over Rate Your Music other than the aspect of a built in marketplace to sell CDs? You can organize your collection digitally, into different sections. If that is what you want. And I use it to look up albums from bands, discover new bands, etc. Sometimes you can find bargains for rare CDs as well, but most sellers are up to date with the ridiculous prices people want to pay for rare stuff.

RYM allows for this as well. There is just no built in 'marketplace' for things.

I feel like I've said it 100 just this week, but people need to stop buying CDs for insane prices. If people don't buy for $$$ then they won't sell for $$$. But there's a huge difference between the seller offering a CD for 200$, or people overbidding eachother up to 200$ on an auction. If a seller demands a crazy amount of money for a CD - greedy fucker. If he starts an auction with an opening bid of let's just say 10$, but people want it so bad that they go all the way up to 200$ or so - he can't be blamed at all. Bidders choice.

I paid about $40 AUD for a copy of Impaled's Mondo Medicale, but I'm pretty sure that was mainly due to shipping. Looking at about $50 AUD for Scatorgy, not including shipping...

I was matching up the barcodes with what Metal Archives has listed for the May 1st release but there very well could be a chance that I missed a cheaper one.
