Do any of you jam death metal, or know of improv death metal bands? I've been playing in one for about 6 years called Hideous CHUD and i haven't heard of many others besides Encenethrakh. Curious to see what else is out there. hideouschud.bandcamp.com

My band isn't improv.. at all, however we spend a lot of time improvising everything together just to warm up, although it's not what we go for and I put a lot of effort into writing and solidifying the material, we did a totally improvised jam as an encore not too long ago, went over extremely well believe it or not. Jamming like that can be fun and have it's benefits with getting everyone in the right headspace for band practice, but haven't really taken any serious ideas away from it yet.. I'm sure lots of bands use that method to come up with some ideas.

Aren't those 'dissonant' bands also a bit improv like Pyrrhon? At least their last release was improv. I guess you could always do a search for 'jazz metal' bands.
