I'm really far too spread out with music so I'm not as deep into metal as I would like to be. Anyway, so recently I've kind of started plunging into those deep dark waters again. Got my feet wet with thrash and hoping to drown in BDM and more OSDM. Can never get enough OSDM but this is not the topic for that.
Anyway, some favorite thrash records are below. Uncle Slam being a new discovery and boy does it really get me moving. Same with Vio-lence. I actually got the remastered 2CD for Eternal Nightmare. Man, I don't think there is another thrash album that tops this for me. And the final album, for now, is Arise by Sepultura. This was a relisten. I hadn't heard that record since I first got into extreme metal. The Sepultura album I tried after Arise was Roots and that was a very polarizing experience and ever since that moment, I haven't listened to them.

I listen to this weekly. People say its a Slayer rip off, cool, I don't think so. Thrash written by 15-16 year old kids. More memorable than Slayer and better composition in my opinion. Give it a listen! Youtube quality sucks, always better to own the physical! =)

By people calling them a Slayer rip off is that supposed to put me off or something? Because those first 5 Slayer albums kick ass for sure. I haven't listened to anything past them. Anyway, this album fucking slays from the get go. Gonna share it to Facebook hahahaha
This was another thrash album I checked out pretty recently and vibed with it. The cover is OKAY but it's the thing that had me curious about the album in the first place.

All of these are killer, but that Realm album was one of my most-played albums during the last year. Such a good record.
Mad stoked to see Demolition Hammer at NDF this year.

I really cant stand 99% of thrash...but there is ONE band which is actually damn awesome:
and, although many dont consider them as thrash, their roots are thrash...one of my fave bands:
Thats it for me...

Demolition Hammer rules. I really dig that style of death/thrash. Others I like in that vein: early Malevolent Creation (more death than thrash these days), Solstice, Resurrection.

As mentioned by suffocatedbrain : Dew Scented. Amazing band. I am more the type that likes his thrash to aim more towards punk, like Municipal Waste:

I forgot to mention Solstice, Toxik, and Forbidden... Although the first may not be considered as thrash metal by everyone, I think they are a great cross-over. Also Toxik and Forbidden. Cannot go wrong with them.

Cannot go wrong with them. I was really big into Toxik several years ago. At that time I was super into thrash metal and only recently have I been exploring it again. Been on a death metal kick for about 18 months now. I still think that Think This is one of the greatest thrash records ever.

suffocatedbrain -- That Dew-Scented song was awesome. Gave it a spin the other day. Just listened to the Machine Head track. To be honest, I've avoided listening to MH for some time now and I can't even say why. Had it not been for me realizing that Robb from Vio-lence was the one who formed MH, I'm not sure I would've listened to the song. Gonna look into both, more so Dew-Scented at some point in the coming week. Vivum Excoriari -- I actually have that MW CD and Hazardous Mutation. I've got mixed feelings. They've definitely got some ragers but it's those I tend to want to listen to rather than an entire album. Still a cool band. Really love their energy on their albums. It's because of them I checked out D.R.I though and man, the album (might be their 2nd or 3rd) smashes! Gotta come back to this thread and listen through some of these new to me albums. Been busy trying to grind on that BDM.

MW are kind of D.R.I. worship, so there you have it... I like some songs less than others when it comes to MW. Same as you, only I might enjoy the "lesser" songs more than you do.

But yea, I was listening to something on Youtube and saw someone talk about DRI in the comments and here I am. Funny enough, MW just posted to FB saying they've finished tracking their new album.

Ooooh boy I let this shit die. I haven't really had any thrash on blast lately. Sometimes I spin the copy of Testament's The New Order that my grandfather sent me or either of the first 2 Megadeth albums but I haven't gone out of that lately.
Checking out this new Havok track right now though
Here we go. Something to jam to before I check out Logan. Probably gonna throw Uncle Slam on again today.
