totally hyped about this: BRODEQUIN (!!!) Is this true? I cannot say much, as in "confirming the rumours", but yes, we are working on new material. I assume after the first show with the new live line-up, we will begin writing for a new album. One song is already finished and has already been performed live with Jon Engman and Mike Bailey, called "The Ravenstone" (video attached to post). |

I was kinda dissapointed when i heard that new track, tompa was such a great singer for them Please give it another spin when the album came out. On the second Lock Up album Tompa have a great growl/screams but I think [IMHO] Kevin is much better than actual Tompa voice. For example, the last At The Gates album is ruined by Tompa which here has a voice hoarse and very raw in the bad sense of the word: it is not shouted, it's coarse. |

Thinking Atonement will be a lot better than KOC, which was a total letdown. Less exciting riffs and songwriting and super plastic production. I like the track they've released for the new one though.

Happy to inform you all that the upcoming Contorted Mind EP "Tome Of Atrocious Revelation" is off to be mixed by Inurn Productions ( adriancap). New artwork by Cam Smith of Outrescent Seepage will be revealed soon. Hopefully this will be fully finished soon so we can release a track and get the pre-orders up at the New Standard Elite website. |

The Chasm posted on their FB about being in the studio, so that hopefulness goes right to the top of my 2017 list (nothing definitive was said about a timetable).
Of course all the other big stuff like Immolation, Incantation, Morbid Angel, Suffocation. Flesh Consumed and Odious Mortem too. The new Emptiness is amazing but really not even metal, and way weirder than Nothing but the Whole, a favorite of mine. Profound Lore posted a list of stuff that's coming out, including the aforementioned Artificial Brain, as well as Portal, Impetuous Ritual, and Evoken. And Dark Descent has a ridiculous March/April coming: Lantern, Gorephilia, Ascended Dead, Craven Idol, Ensnared, and Sarcasm.
I thought I read something about possible new Gigan too, but now I can't recall where.
And on the less grimy and ghoulish side of things, Progenie Terrestre Pura and Keldian should have releases on the horizon.
Gonna be a crazy year.
Oh and a big fuck yeah to this news of new Brodequin material.

More than anything I'm looking forward to more music from Carnal. The two songs they've released so far are too good. Also: Seraphic Enthronement, Egregious (maybe???), Euphegenia, Delusional Parasitosis & Excoriation split (if that's still a thing), Black Dahlia Murder, Cattle Decapitation, Cannibal Corpse. Anyone know if Devourment is working on new stuff?

The Chasm has definitely been posting about recording stuff, but whether or not it's this year remains to be seen. Would be amazing though.
Devourment has been saying they are writing for ages now, but who knows. They've also said they are going back to the old style, and I'm pretty sure Kevin Clark rejoined, but I could be wrong.
